Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince....

After waiting longer to see the Half Blood Prince than any of the previous Potter films, I have to admit - I was a little disappointed. Although I have not read the book, several of my friends did say that they were disappointed with all the main themes that were left out and new scenes that were added, which didn't do anything for the movie but make it longer. We are all wondering how book seven and possible 7.5, will hold ground with one main love interest in the book that was left out.
First the special effects were done very well. By far the best FX of all the Potter films thus far. In the opening scene there was a ton of FX with the destruction of parts of London that was directed at Diagon Alley. There was over-kill with some of Ron's love interest and lack there of for Hermine. Not to give too much away regarding the film, because it's very much a must-see for Potter fans; however the ultimate and most anticipated part of the film was the death of Professor Dumbledore. I was expecting to be in tears when that event happened, but it was very brief, respect was given by the students and other professors at Hogwarts.
On a rating scale, I have to give this movie 3 stars over-all and 5 stars for special effects, which were done very well.
I am looking forward to movie or movies 7 - 8. Like all the previous Harry Potter films; I will be adding it to my DVD library (not that I plan to watch it as much as previous ones). Another nice element of the Potter films is the fact that we are able to see three wonderful young stars grow up before our eyes. Who knows if they will continue in film or fall off the map; one thing is certain for the trio - they are very wealthy and really don't need to work ever again!
Also, hats off to J. K. Rowling for all she has accomplished. For a single mom who was on welfare to be the second wealthiest woman in show biz (and the only author) she ranks number two. The only woman worth more is none other than Oprah Winfrey and her media empire.
Until movie seven....Hutt.
